Oh man, this week has been HARD!! They are nearly 6 months old and still, so much work! ha! Who would have thought! On Thursday I was still getting over my cold so it was tough to be patient and loving when all I wanted to do was melt away. I did my best and then asked my wife to take Friday off to help me because I needed to rest and recoup. She did, and I felt 100 times better by Saturday!
The weekend it was the two of us, but by Monday, I was on my own again. This time I was completely recuperated so I was ready to go!
Here is how my day went:
- 3am - Middle of the night snack for both babies. Change diapers and they go back to sleep.
- 8am - Babies are awake! Change diapers, made pajarito a bottle of EBM and fed him.
- 8:20am - Breathing treatment and Zantac for pajarito.
- 8:30am - Put on some Baby Ein.stein so I could pump.
- 9:30am - Nurse honey papa to sleep (sleeping by 9:45am).
- 9:50am - Rock the pajarito to sleep (sleeping by 10:05am).
- 10:30am - Honey papa wakes up, nurse him (sleeping by 10:41am).
- 10:47am - Pajarito wakes up. Change his diaper.
- 11:00am - Bottle for pajarito, then its play time.
- 11:30am - Honey papa is awake, diaper change then play time.
- 12:25pm - Nurse honey papa, then continue playing.
- 1:00pm - Diaper change then bottle for pajarito (sleeping by 1:35pm - after mini meltdown)
- 1:30pm - Diaper change then nurse honey papa (sleeping by 2:30pm - after major meltdown)
- 2:35pm - Do some laundry, wash bottles and pick up the house.
- 2:53pm - Pump before babies wake up.
- 3:30pm - Honey papa is awake again and ready for play time, diaper change.
- 4:15pm - Pajarito is awake and ready to play with his brother, diaper change.
- 5:00pm - Baby Ein.stein so Mama can get "bathtime" ready.
- 5:30pm - Bathe honey papa while lil pajarito watches in his bouncy seat.
- 6:10pm - Mommy is home!!! and starts pajaritos bath.
- 6:11pm - Nurse honey papa (sleeping by 6:30pm).
- 6:30pm - Mommy gives pajarito a bottle but he doesn't want to go to sleep yet.
- 6:53pm - Mama starts pumping.
- 7:12pm - Honey papa is awake, stop pumping, diaper change then nurse him back to sleep (sleeping by 7:41pm - OUT for the night!)
- 7:30pm - Diaper change then Mommy rocks pajarito to sleep (sleeping by 8pm - OUT for the night!)
- 8:05pm - Dinner time for moms, watch some tv, sit at the computer together, RELAX.
- 11:05pm - Mama starts pumping.
- 12:00am - Bedtime for Mama and Mommy.
So after 12 diapers, two meltdowns (one big and one small), lots of nursing and bottlemaking, not enough pumping, and not nearly enough sleep, we end our day.
For those of you prego with twins (puffer) or who just had twins (Lucky Duck), godspeed and goodluck!

I just finished reading the listing of your day. Going to go take a nap now--exhausted!!
ReplyDeleteI think I need a nap as well, after reading that! Wow, you are a supermom!!
ReplyDeleteI love this post. I started out reading it and thought oh yeah...feeding changing.. and as I kept going and seeing how much you do in a day I am amazed. If I had a hat on right now I would take it off in honour of you.
